I have dusted off my packet system and set it up again.

I have inspired Arthur ZL4TIK to do the same.

Everyone who has packet gear stuck in a cupboard, please drag it out and fire it back up again.

Use it to send messages to other members.

Leave Messages for others on the ZL4AA BBS or in their own TNC mail box.
Read some of the interesting stuff on the BBS from around the world.

It's great fun.

If we do want 915 to remain then I have a functioning Tait Repeater that we can install and we will have something with a bit more grunt than the old one. I will donate this to the branch for nothing. All that is needed is 2 Crystals and Filters.

I am indeed sorry to hear about Bill's death, I along with many others enjoyed Bill's company.Often he would call into Eclipse Radio and I would say let's go for a coffee across the road Bill, there we would have some very interesting discussions about all sorts of things, they were great times, now sadly gone. He will be sorely missed.

Hi Vic,

Not sure if you had a reply or not but here is the answer you would be after.

You have to do nothing at all when you come over here except use your own callsign with the suffix /ZL.

You can use this for up to a year.

Hope to hear you on the air

GM //

Been attempting to contact NZART for a couple of weeks & tonight found your site -- hope you can help -- the other site seems to be shut down now -- I'm planning a trip to South Island at the end of this week -- I'm wondering if I need to notify the authorities if I plan to operate -- I found a PDF on the MED site that indicates all I need is a copy of my US license & is good for 90 days ?? operation will be primarily limited to 6-2 SSB - or 40m cw or I may bring a HT for repeater/simplex operation --- if I bring the radio do I need to have receipt of purchase to show to customs upon entry ???
Thanks in advance -- Vic Woodling - WB4SLM EM82dp // extra class code //
